Something New

Jesmond Dene House (0191 212 3000, www.jesmonddenehouse.co.uk) was originally built in the 1800s, but has recently been transformed into a fab contemporary boutique hotel. Set in woodlands on the outskirts of Newcastle, the hotel is licensed for ceremonies with a magnificent wood-panelled Great Hall that can host glittering receptions for up to 100 and has 40 individually styled bedrooms for guests staying over. Smaller weddings are accommodated in the fashionable Apartment Suite or the Private Dining Room, both of which have terraces.
